Welcome to year 3 of KotW. Short for "The Kings of the West Rally," KotW might not be a race but could be more of a multi-day GPS navagation rally. We call it a "Riding and Comfort Event." All the ride information has been removed from this page. In fact, you won't find any names of people who are associated with the event. Past or present. There are two pages of photos that may or may not be from the ride. It's hard to say how many people could have been involved. However, if you take inventory of the wrecked bikes and broken bones, it's possible that something extraordinary happened to a few intrepid folks. Some claim they had fun. Not to say there aren't some KotW haters out there, but nobody we personally know who ever was involved. There is a SPONSOR PAGE now where you can get discounts on some of the products we've tested under the extreme conditions that may have been present. There's also a blog that is for Klub KotW members only but usually comes alive just before the ride. But let's not forget the TRY TO APPLY menu button. Slightly sarcastic, but close to the truth because very few spaces are ever available. The reason for the secrecy is we've had so much good clean, law abiding fun —that we must be overdue for some tool to put us in "time out," take all our toys away, or invent a new law, or regulation to end this forever.
So...
We can tell you what KotW is not.
KotW is not like the Dakar Rally because there are no 4 wheeled vehicles and it stays in one country. KotW is not Erzburg or "King of the Motos" but it might be a little bit of both.
KotW does not give out trophies or recognize a "winner"
KotW does not have spectators. KotW does not make money.
KotW is not open to just any rider who wants to join.
What it is.
KotW is a private club of like-minded highly skilled adventure riders… some of whom might ride fast. KotW riders leave no rider behind. KotW is about self-reliance and true riding skills.
KotW is open to riders who have been recommended by a veteran or one of the founders and or support members.
KotW does not charge an entry fee or charge for the "ride" however, there is an entry cost associated to joining Klub KotW 2012. Riders who are interested in being considered please fill out the application and submit it ASAP. Currently almost all spaces are filled so the waiting list will shortly be tapped for cancellations. Klub dues, and all other information about this will be sent out to approved applicants only and will not be posted on this site. The Klub dues include all the activities, lodging, logistics, clothing, special sponsor offers, raffles KotW movie and other things we decide to include for our members.
Apparently it must be really fun, since we keep trying to stop doing it, but always get talked into it again and again.
